There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction that comes from taking something used and making it like-new again, is there? That’s why we’re proud to offer a wide array of great-looking, reliable pre-owned Lexus vehicles for sale. Our pre-owned Lexus automobiles are so good-looking and operate so smoothly that many of our visitors find it difficult to believe they’re not brand new.

This year, the Lexus brand conducted its tenth annual Lexus Eco Challenge and gave cash awards to high schools and middle schools that participated in its Turning Trash into Music to Our Ears and One Sip at a Time competitions. What’s better than turning something used into something that’s like-new? Turning trash into music for a cash award sounds like it would be even more rewarding.

Every year, the brand we represent conducts the Lexus Eco Challenge, an educational program intended to inspire middle school and high school students to learn about the environment and do something to improve it. Students nationwide identify an environmental problem that’s meaningful to them, create a plan to address the problem, act on their plan, and then report the results of their activities in an attempt to win an award from the Lexus brand.

This year, teams that won grand prizes collected $30,000 in prize money, with $7,000 going to their school, $3,000 going to the team’s teacher advisor, and $20,000 being dedicated to scholarships for the students to share. Eight teams that finished in first place won $15,000 apiece. This year’s grand prize winners were “Second Chance Band” from Lebanon Trail High School in Frisco, TX and “WMS Coral Keepers” from Whitehall Middle School in Whitehall, MI.

The Lexus Eco Challenge is part of The Lexus Pursuit of Potential, which is a program that generates up to $3 million in donations annually. This money is given to organizations that are dedicated to building, shaping, and improving the lives of kids. Over the past decade, the Lexus Eco Challenge has given more than $5 million in scholarships to aspiring students. Nearly 31,000 middle school and high school students have gotten involved in their communities, learned more about the environment, and developed or improved their teamwork abilities as a result of the innovative program.

As Lexus dealers near St. Augustine, FL, we’re proud of the teams that were recognized for their efforts. We’re even prouder of the brand we represent for inspiring tens of thousands of young adults to take action to improve the environment.
