When the Lexus LS 400 was first introduced in Detroit way back in 1989, it was an historic event that marked the unveiling of a world-class car to the American market. It also celebrated the birth of the brand we proudly represent.

Twenty-eight years later, the now fifth-generation Lexus LS will once again make its initial appearance in the Motor City. When it goes on sale, the all-new Lexus LS will be available to consumers located in more than 90 countries across the globe. The sedan is built on the Lexus brand’s new “global architecture for luxury vehicles (GA-L), the premium rear-wheel drive platform.” This platform is expected to provide a more dynamic driving experience for anyone who gets behind the wheel of a new Lexus LS.

In addition to being built on a different platform, the new Lexus LS has a striking look that has a silhouette reminiscent of a coupe. The sedan retains the roomy, comfortable cabin, upscale appointments, and the state-of-the-art technology you’d expect to find in a premium luxury sedan.

Held every year in Detroit, MI, the North American International Auto Show is considered the global stage for automakers to introduce the vehicles that define their brands and make industry-changing announcements. At last year’s show, 61 automobiles made their global debuts. Over 5,000 journalists from 60 countries are expected to flock to this year’s show, which is scheduled to run from January 8 through January 22, 2017.
