It’s not every day that a car’s name communicates everything you need to know about the automobile. While that’s true, Lexus nailed it with the name of its new and upcoming model: the UX. This crossover’s name was taken directly from the vehicle’s mission and is best explained by the following equation: Urban + X-over = Lexus UX.

“The Lexus UX is designed for the modern urban explorer seeking a fresh, contemporary, and dynamic take on luxury driving,” said Chika Kako, executive vice president of Lexus International and chief engineer of the Lexus UX. “We designed the [Lexus] UX to appeal to young buyers who seek not only what is new and exciting, but what is also relevant to their lifestyles.”

“I wanted to positively overturn the image of a crossover and offer a car with nimble performance and excellent maneuverability that makes it as easy to drive as a sedan,” said Chief Engineer Kako.

When it arrives at our Lexus dealership near Amelia Island, FL, the 2019 Lexus UX will be available in two versions: the front-wheel drive Lexus UX 200 and the all-wheel drive Lexus UX 250h. The former features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a 10-speed continuously variable automatic transmission, while the lattter boasts a 2.0-liter powertrain and a new fourth-generation hybrid drive.

The 2019 Lexus UX will undoubtedly fit right in with our inventory of new Lexus cars in our showroom, meeting the needs of various drivers. The 2019 Lexus UX 200 is scheduled to arrive in December 2018, and we expect the Lexus UX 250h to be delivered in January 2019.
